"BABY ON BOARD," the new comedy from Director Brian Herzlinger (My Date With Drew) and starring Heather Graham, Jerry O'Connell, John Corbett, and Lara Flynn Boyle. Herzlinger and O’Connell are both Philly native!

“It’s a comedy winner. Absolutely hilarious. ‘Baby On Board’ is a smart, funny and raunchy surprise.”
- Pete Hammond, Hollywood.Com
Life for a successful power couple gets thrown for a loop when the wife finds out she's pregnant.

In the tradition of Knocked Up and The 40 Year Old Virgin arrives hilarious romantic comedy BABY ON BOARD; the story of Angela (Heather Graham) an ambitious, image-conscious businesswoman working for over-demanding boss Mary (Lara Flynn Boyle). When Angela becomes unexpectedly pregnant at the peak of her career, her life with her divorce attorney husband, Curtis (Jerry O'Connell), is turned upside-down. BABY ON BOARD begins with an inconvenient pregnancy that leads to a nine-month rollercoaster ride as Angela and Curtis try to cope even as the interference of best friends Danny (John Corbett) and Danny's wife Sylvia (Katie Finneran) escalate the situation into a battle of the sexes.

Starring: Heather Graham (Austin Powers, Swingers, Bowfinger)
Jerry O'Connell (Jerry Maguire, Joe's Apartment, Stand by Me)
John Corbett (Sex and the City, My Big Fat Greek Wedding)
Lara Flynn Boyle (Men In Black, Wayne's World, The Practice)
Katie Finneran (Broadway Tony Award Winner for “Noises Off”)

The picture is directed by Brian Herzlinger, whose 2004 feature documentary MY DATE WITH DREW garnered critical praise for its “astute and often hilarious” presentation of Herzlinger's attempt to get a date with childhood-crush Drew Barrymore.

Sat, May 2nd- Black Landlord w/ Captain Smokes and The Shotguns - Village Green Presents

Black Landlord
"This is a project started by Maxx (formerly of the Goats and Incognegro). It is a TRUE collective. The idea began 4yrs ago with friends and super-electro producers Leonard de Leonard and Olaf Hund. They worked together in Paris and Berlin, writing songs and daydreaming about how to bring talented people together. So, after learning German, some ghetto French and drinking great beer, Maxx returned home to Philly and put a live band together and the end result was a diverse mix of Philly All-Stars."

with
Captain Smokes and The Shotguns
"Captain Smokes is back. Its been a long and strange trip but he got the original Shotguns lineup back together and clam baked the studio to create some new tune-age. (Bud Hempfield--Guitar, Herb Roller--Keyboard, Omar Hashish--Bass, Screenz--Drums) Captain Smokes & The Shotguns is simply pleasure in your ears after you pleasured your lungs. The Captain pleasures himself everytime he hears himself. He's travelled the world, studied with Zanga and puffed great plants in many foreign countries. The Captain still doesn't have any tattoos and plans on keeping it that way. Nothing more to prove. Nothing more to say. Just peace and all good things. Come groove to the best live show on planet Earth."

Friday, April 24th – Eye of the Tiger, Thrill of the Fight - Screening Party

Written and directed by Jena Serbu
Shot for two weeks straight, on location at the Philadelphia Art Museum, Eye of the Tiger/Thrill of the Fight (written and directed by Jena Serbu) offers a hilarious and thought-provoking glimpse into the voyeuristic world of reality television, juxtaposing all three sides of this phenomenon: the high strung producers, the daft participants, and the spellbound viewers. Seven stereotypical contestants are duped into signing up for a new reality television show called 'The Philadelphia Experiment', on which the participants have their luggage stolen and are forced to live homeless on the grounds of the Philadelphia Art Museum.

Cast members include Tony Luke Jr., Christa D’Agostino, Scotty Yelity, Chris Osborne, Mark A. Dahl, Brea Bee, Ishmael Klein, Mei-Yann Hwang, Dana Michael, Rob Paluso, Amie Shafer, Tim Shelton, Tamika Simpkins, Michael Minnard, Robert Boileau, and Steve Klasky

Sat, March 28th - Found Footage Festival with Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher

The Found Footage Festival is a one-of-a-kind event compiles more than an hours worth of footage from videos that were found at garage sales and thrift stores and in warehouses and dumpsters throughout the country. Curators Pickett and Prueher host each screening in-person and provide their unique observations and commentary on these found video obscurities. From the curiously-produced industrial training video to the forsaken home movie donated to Goodwill, the Found Footage Festival resurrects these forgotten treasures and serves them up in a lively celebration of all things found.

Among the new clips to be featured in the show:

; 17 workplace sexual harassment videos, edited down to three minutes of just the best reenactments
; A brand-new collection of exercise videos featuring Playgirls 1985 Man of the Year, a scantily-clad Angela Lansbury, and a guru who calls himself The Laughing Yogi.
; Video contributions by Chris Elliott and David Cross
; An instructional video on how to toilet train cats

The Found Footage Festival was founded in New York in 2004 and has gone on to sell out hundreds of shows across the U.S. and Canada, including the HBO Comedy Festival at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. The festival has been featured on National Public Radio, ABC World News, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and G4 TVs Attack of the Show, and has been named a Critics Pick in dozens of publications, including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle and The Chicago Tribune.

The Philadelphia Film Festival/Cinefest is showcasing the Best of the Backseat Film Festival as a special 2 hour screening block! It all goes down on Sat April 4th at 9:30pm at the International House - 3701 Chestnut St in Philly! We're honored to be a part of it and we'll be screenings our favorite shorts from the last 7 years! You can see the full schedule and get tix here!!

Here is what's going down this weekend at 941 Theater:

Friday, March 20th - Flauf Productions Presents:
Infinien, Bear Is Driving, Imbala, Complex Complex

iNFiNiEN - (Philly Psychedelic / Fusion / Experimental music) Philadelphia-born iNFiNiEN combines eclectic musical personalities into a visionary, unified force. With rock, jazz, soul, world, and classical influences, the quartet plays intricately composed songs with a focus on improvisation. After playing together for three years, iNFiNiEN has discovered its own voice both live and in the studio. Their diverse influences are portrayed, but the sound produced is unique. iNFiNiEN has been compared to Bjork, Radiohead, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and John Zorn’s Masada.

Bear Is Driving (Philly Progressive / Post punk / Experimental music) - Bear is Driving is just as much a theory as it is a tangible arrangement of artists, instruments, and the resultant sounds of artist-on-instrument interaction. In the abstract, BiD is an existential approach towards the definition of Art. The music is the language with which we convey our current working definition.

Complex Complex from Milwaukee

Feb 27-March 1- MJ Project, Soltice Partay No. 2 and Battle of the Bands!!

This weekend is gonna be crazy, and we're gearing up for two weekends of the 7th Annual Backseat Film Festival!

Feb 27th - MJ Project, Indobox, Segway- Glass Grenade/Village Green

MJ Project
"MJ Project performs an instrumental, intelligent and funky mix of rock, progressive jazz, danceable grooves and spacy but melodic sounds. The Philadelphia-based band's mix of talent, telepathic tightness and fearless appreciation of improv adds up to a rock-solid groove and impeccable sound that works on many levels."

The Indobox

From Boston--"Here are four kids that grew up in the 90's listening to flannel wearing, longhaired rock and roll. Give them a drum machine, a synthesizer, 30 some effect pedals and see what happens live in the flesh. When the groove starts in front of hundreds of sweaty drunk half naked youths, stop analyzing the music and awkwardly contort you body in the pastime called dancing."

Segway
Definition of Segue: to make a transition from one thing to another smoothly and without interruption "Definition of Segway: In your face Live, Organic Disco Breakbeat House. Smoothly transitioning from fast paced, driving rhythms and heavy synth and guitar leads to slow, ambient grooves combining out of this world effects with atmospheric riffs and bass lines. Segway has begun to search for new frontiers in live, organic dance music."

Jan 31st: BC Camplight and the Bye Byes

Sat, Jan 31st - BC Camplight and the Bye Byes - Village Green

BC Camplight
"BC Camplight lives in the mind of twenty something Brian Christinzio, a mind unique to the modern songwriting world and gifted enough to follow his 2005 breakthrough, the frighteningly beautiful and humorously twisted debut 'Hide, Run Away’, with a record that sets a new standard, ‘Blink Of A Nihilist’."

The Bye Byes
Former and Current Members of Alkali Flats, Walker Lundee and Hong Kong Stingray-- "Philadelphia's The Bye Byes tie in decades of indie pop from the baroque grandeur of the Zombies to the Saccherine-sweet power-pop of Squeeze."

Surefire Broadcast
"Beautifully crafted indie pop, a touch of shoegaze guitar, and a surprising knack to make you want to shake your ass, Surefire Broadcast are a trio ready to have fun. Strapped with Rickenbackers, this band pays tribute to Buddy Holly as much as they do to bands like Rocketship, The Shins, and Grandaddy."

Jan 20th - Mystery Palace and Infinien - Jan 24th - Industrial v. Metal Night!

Tuesday, Jan 20th -
Flauf Productions Presents:

Mystery
Palace
with Infinien,
Bear
Is Driving
and more TBA

Mystery
Palace
(Minneapolis Melodramatic Popular Song
/ Ghettotech / Healing & EasyListening) on Totally
Gross National Product
Records - There's no guide or
manual for what Mystery Palace does, no easy clockwork formula
hidden in the Minneapolis-based trio's agenda. Sequenced
electronics-plus-live instruments offer a tough enough row
to hoe on their own; when the former come from a pair of
heavily circuit-bent Yamaha mid-pro keyboards, opportunities
for disaster multiply exponentially.

iNFiNiEN
- (Philly Psychedelic / Fusion / Experimental music) Philadelphia-born
iNFiNiEN combines eclectic musical personalities into a
visionary, unified force. With rock, jazz, soul, world,
and classical influences, the quartet plays intricately
composed songs with a focus on improvisation. After playing
together for three years, iNFiNiEN has discovered its own
voice both live and in the studio. Their diverse influences
are portrayed, but the sound produced is unique. iNFiNiEN
has been compared to Bjork, Radiohead, Mahavishnu Orchestra,
and John Zorn’s Masada.

Bear
Is Driving
(Philly Progressive / Post punk
/ Experimental music) - Bear is Driving is just as much
a theory as it is a tangible arrangement of artists, instruments,
and the resultant sounds of artist-on-instrument interaction.
In the abstract, BiD is an existential approach towards
the definition of Art. The music is the language with which
we convey our current working definition.
